As one of Asia’s top startup minds, Ash is an Adjunct Professor of Entrepreneurship at the INSEAD Business School. Ash’s entrepreneurial journey started while still a student, where he conceived and launched SNBS, a corporate social networking company that soon acquired. Ash then served as the CTO for At-Life, Singapore’s largest loyalty rewards program, and founded of Interactive SG, Asia’s leading digital media and business accelerators. His flagship project ‘The Angel’s Gate’ was Asia’s first crowdfunding TV platform for entrepreneurs.
Ash’s success and track record has been recognised by Business Week, listing him as Asia’s Top Young Entrepreneur 2009, and by Prestige Magazine as Singapore’s Top 40 Under 40 2015. Finally, Ash promotes his favourite hobby, turbans, through his mobile app ‘Turbanizer’, on track for 1 million downloads this year.
Derek was one of the Founding Investors in Nest and is currently a General Partner with the business based out of California. Prior to being with Nest he had a decade in various global leadership roles with Google based in Hong Kong, Singapore & California. Most recently he was Director & Global Head of Partner Marketing for YouTube. Prior to that he was Head of Marketing for Google across Southeast Asia. Before Google he held various management & consulting roles in Accenture & Ogilvy Group. Derek's an active investor and advisor across Asia and the US, and a mad All Blacks supporter, and UCLA Bruin fan if it's college sport.
Simon has been an angel investor and entrepreneur in Hong Kong and the UK for almost two decades. A self-made entrepreneur himself, Simon is now dedicated to offering relevant and meaningful support to other founders so that they can build and scale their businesses as fast as possible.
With a background in marketing and all things creative, Simon founded multi award-winning, creative agency, Fluid, and worked with an impressive list of clients and partner brands including Estée Lauder China, Fortune, CNN, Wall Street Journal Asia, Li & Fung, Citibank China and Starbucks. In 2015 Fluid was sold to PwC and the business has since rebranded to become the PwC Experience Centre.
Simon founded Nest in 2010 and built the company to be the pre-eminent early-stage venture firm in Hong Kong. He is now leading the charge to take Nest into new markets and already has expanded its footprint to Singapore, Nairobi, London, Paris, Los Angeles and New York.

Prior to joining AIA, Clive worked for a multi-national financial services firm where he was the Chief Technology Counsel, responsible for the firm’s global IT contracting and outsourcing initiatives before taking on the role of Chief Counsel for the firm’s Individual Wealth Management operations. He was responsible for the oversight of all legal and compliance issues for the firm’s sizable wealth management business.

Simeon Preston is the Group Chief Operations Officer responsible at the Group level for technology and operations. He is a director of various companies within the Group. He joined the Group in September 2010 and is based in Hong Kong. Prior to joining the Group, Mr. Preston served as a senior partner in the financial services practice of global management consultants Bain & Company, where he specialised in the Asia life insurance sector. He previously spent almost nine years with strategy consulting firm Marakon Associates in Europe, the US and Asia, and was named a partner in 2006.

Dr Christian Wards is Director of Group Healthcare at AIA developing a more efficient customer health journey and improved customer experience across the region.
Christian has over 15 years of international experience in healthcare from across the health insurance, healthcare provision, disease management and government sectors in a wide number of geographies including North America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
Prior to joining AIA, Christian was Managing Director of Bupa (Asia) Ltd, responsible for Bupa's health insurance business in Hong Kong, and an active member of the Hong Kong Federation of Insurers Taskforce on health reform. During his time with Bupa, he also led the successful acquisition of LuxMed, the market leading healthcare subscription and private medical care service provider in Poland, and Quality HealthCare, the market leading clinic business in Hong Kong.

The Propell Group focuses on early-stage investments and startup acceleration globally within the healthtech sector and invests using own capital, in collaboration with HNWs, family offices and institutions, on a deal by deal basis. Prior to founding The Propell Group, Julien was the head of strategy and business development for Asia Pacific at Merck & Co Inc. He was accountable for the inorganic growth strategy for the AP region and was a key player in the Emerging Market Group business development team. His focus included product, M&A and JV type deals across both the pharma and vaccines business. He was also a full member of the Asia Pacific Leadership Team.
Prior to joining Merck, Julien was a Head of Strategy for Asia Pacific at Lehman Brothers. Based in Japan, he was accountable for the development and execution of the growth strategy for the firm's retail finance and securitisation divisions. He managed M&A and JV execution of the market entry / expansion initiatives with focus on Australia, Japan, India, China, South Korea and ASEAN.
Prior to joining Lehman, Julien was the Director of Business Strategy & Transformation at Capgemini focused on both the Lifesciences and Financial Services sectors.

He focused on supply chain management in the US and China while at Solectron, an Electronics Manufacturing Services provider. He obtained an MBA/MA joint degree from the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School and became an investment banker in the US with Goldman Sachs executing M&A deals in the Technology, Media and Telecommunications sector. Kuan subsequently moved to Singapore, executing PE deals at Temasek throughout the region prior to becoming a Venture Capitalist responsible for GREE Ventures' Southeast Asian operations. He has since launched KK Fund, focusing on early stage internet and mobile investments in Southeast Asia, Hong Kong and Taiwan.

Dr. Anthony Tang is a specialist General Surgeon, with particular interest in Breast Oncoplastic Surgery. Dr. Tang’s research interest is in medical device innovation, and in 2011, Dr. Tang was awarded the inaugural Singapore-Stanford Biodesign Fellowship. He currently holds multiple research portfolios, including being the Fellowship Head at Singapore Stanford Biodesign, and is the Clinician Consultant to I²R, A*STAR.
With extensive experience with medical device innovation and the medtech community, mentoring and conducting workshops for over 400 budding entrepreneurs, Dr. Tang is well qualified to bring startups to the next level, with his in depth clinical knowledge and adaptive approaches in assessing clinical needs and gaps, and in issues concerning intellectual property, regulatory concerns and clinical trial development.
A published author, Dr. Tang is also a frequent speaker in many local and international conferences. As an active advocate for breast cancer screening, he often organizes public symposiums in Singapore.

Before starting Lightbulb Capital Dan was COO and on the board of HSBC Securities (Singapore) Pte Limited – the entity to provide access to the Singapore Stock Market (SGX) for the Global Equities Business within HSBC. Dan was previously also the IT Head of HSBC’s Investment Bank inSingapore and Japan.
His work experience spans ca. 15 years in Investment Banking Technology working for companies like UBS in Germany and the UK, Barclays Capital in Singapore and Tokyo as well as Close Brothers in his hometown Frankfurt. Dan is a mentor for Innovation, Finance & Technology in both Swire’s accelerator program blueprint as well as Singapore based Startupbootcamp Fintech.
Dan has been invited by several Universities (SMU in Singapore, IE Business School in Spain and HKU in Hong Kong) to hold seminars on Innovation in Financial Services. He is also a speaker on Innovation in the public sector in Hong Kong and other conferences.
He graduated from the Master of Science in Innovation program at Singapore Management University (SMU) in Singapore and holds a Master in Finance degree from IE business school in Madrid, Spain.

DR. SNEHAL PATEL
Dr. Patel co-founded MyDoc and is responsible for business strategy and execution. He is also currently a Managing Director of Saena Partners, a Singapore-based investment company. Previously, he was a Senior Vice President at Chandler Corporation, a multi-billion dollar investment fund based in Singapore. In this role, he founded and led the investment team responsible for investing in healthcare businesses in South and Southeast Asia. His responsibilities included leading the on-the-ground incubation and early growth of a regional healthcare chain, as well as serving on the boards of several early-stage healthcare and education businesses throughout the region.
Prior to moving to Singapore in 2008, Dr. Patel practiced law at Cravath, Swaine & Moore, LLP in New York. He received an MD from the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons and a JD from Columbia Law School. Upon graduation, he served as a Clinical Fellow at the Harvard Medical School, and was offered a Fulbright scholarship to study the differences between the Singaporean and US healthcare systems. Dr. Patel was a featured speaker at the 2011 Milken Global Conference and is a member of the Society of Kauffman Fellows.

Kajal is an innovation and insight specialist with a focus on emerging markets. She has been consulting for Fortune 100 clients in banking, telecom, consumer goods and hospitality across the world. Her clients include British Airways, Unilever, Singtel, DBS, Standard Chartered and Coke. Her areas of expertise include branding, consumer insights, design thinking and innovation strategy.
Kajal started her career as a copywriter in India and has since lived and worked in London, Hong Kong, Shanghai and Singapore. In 2008, Kajal co-founded M&C Saatchi Sunshine, a brand strategy consultancy based out of Hong Kong. She then moved to Shanghai to lead design research for frog. Over the last few years, Kajal has been working closely with start ups in New Delhi, New York and Shanghai. Kajal often speaks at industry events and universities across the region. She is deeply interested in fintech and medtech with a focus on social innovation.
Currently, Kajal is based out of Singapore where she runs Heist, an insight and innovation consultancy. Aside from this, she also helps run a senior citizen care home in India and is passionate about designing solutions that help tackle depression amongst urban youth in India.

Jussi has over 12 years of professional creative experience, with the last 8 of those years in Singapore and Shanghai. As a creative director, he’s responsible for guiding multi-disciplinary teams through entire design processes, from research and insights gathering, conceptualization through to execution and development.
He has successfully delivered projects across Asia, the United States and Europe resulting in new and innovative products and services, the transformation of businesses, and new service experiences across multiple platforms.
With a background in user experience, visual design, branding and motion graphics, his passion lies in bringing all these skills to bear in the creation of products that are both carefully thought through and well crafted.
Jussi studied media and communications design at Berghs School of Communication in Stockholm, and subsequently specialized in motion graphics design at Forsbergs School of Design.
Born and raised in Stockholm, Sweden, he relocated from Singapore to Shanghai in early 2012, and back to Singapore to help shape the Singapore studio in early 2015.

Dr Loke began his career in Medicine after graduating from the National University of Singapore on the Dean’s List. He is professionally qualified as a Family Physician, having completed the Master of Medicine and Fellowship in Family Medicine. In the early 2000s, he was Director over operations and clinical services of two busy primary care polyclinics. Keen to make a broader strategic and system-level impact, he took on hospital and Group HQ roles and was Director of Quality, Resource Management, Clinical Standards and Improvement at the National Healthcare Group. Concurrently, he was Director Human Resource overseeing HR management for 700+ doctors. Subsequently, he joined the government and was Director of Health & Wellness Programme Office at the national level, spearheading the novel joint initiative between the Ministry of Health and Singapore Economic Development Board. With the government, he was also concurrent Executive Director of National Medical Research Council, and was tasked to promote translational clinical research excellence, develop initiatives to build a vibrant biomedical research community and improve human health and realize economic benefits through strategic collaborations. His last stint with the government was to develop the Regional Health System for JurongHealth, formulating the strategy of accountable care, and overseeing the development and operation of community services, facilities and care integration initiatives to improve population health.
From 2011 to 2014, he was management consultant and Director of KPMG Global Healthcare Practice. There, he worked with clients, governments and people across 22 countries to address the challenge of providing quality healthcare at affordable cost. His projects included care system redesign, quality and margin improvement, due diligence for healthcare transactions, risk management and health IT projects around the world.
His latest adventure is to help start-up a healthcare platform for the major global investment firm Temasek, starting with greenfield and brownfield hospital projects, to capitalize on the attractive healthcare service sector in emerging markets, and realize the vision to shape the future of healthcare delivery.
Besides his medical qualifications, Dr Loke received his Double MBA from the University of California (Los Angeles) and the National University of Singapore.
Bernise tackles complex problems relating to urbanisation, and in doing so, plays alchemist in bringing together different disciplines such as design, psychology, data analysis, anthropology, system dynamics. Her current work at Zeroth Labs, a services startup she co-founded 1.5 years ago, involves problem definition for governments through macro systems analysis and deep behavioural insights, as well as prototyping to test public policy and service solutions before millions get spent rolling them out. In a previous life, she had a finance career in private equity dealing with Asian REITS. She’s a seasoned mentor for Lean Startup Machine as well as numerous hackathons.

Ken is the Senior Director IT & Security for Carlson Rezidor, Asia Pacific. Prior to this appointment, Ken led the Corporate Shared IT infrastructure services at the World Headquarters for Carlson Rezidor, based in the United States.
Now based in Singapore, Ken leads the Asia technology team and is responsible for technology services and infrastructure across the region – including 3 corporate offices located in Singapore, Delhi, & Shanghai. This team also supports hotel openings and operations across more than 100 hotels, all located in Asia Pacific.
Past experience also includes real estate investment, financial planning, estate planning, and product development. Ken holds an MBA from St. Thomas University and a BS from the Carlson School of Management in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
